The North Heidelberg Sporting Club has great pleasure in announcing the appointment of Nigel Bugeja who hails from the successful Yarrambat Junior Football Club as U19s coach in season 2023.
Nigel’s experience at the junior level, where most recently he coached the U17 Division 1 team at the “Bats” to a Grand Final in 2022 is the next logical step for the group of young players at his disposal in the continuation of the squad seeking a successful pathway to senior football.
The NHSC provides that environment & we are ecstatic to have Nigel & his experienced & newly appointed assistant Nathan Skudutis who runs his own junior academy program in partnership with Brent “Boomer” Harvey.
Nigel succeeds Scott Gunn who has resigned from the position where he has been instrumental in building the success of the U19s group in recent years. We thank Scott along with 2022 Assistant Coach Craig D’ath for their commitment to the task where the U19s finished a creditable 6th in our first year back in the strong Division 1 competition this season.
We welcome the Bugeja & Skudutis families to the Bulldogs in season 2023. Although they are no strangers to the club with son Cooper “Budgie” already at the club & making his own mark whilst Nathan was also a former player of the NHSC.
