The Northern Football Netball League (along with all other major metro leagues) announced today the cancellation of the 2021 season for both netball & football.

We held some hope that particularly for our U/19s & women’s netball in addition to our junior affiliated clubs that they may see finals action over the next few weeks post the seniors exiting after this weekends further lockdown but realistically it was looking more remote we won’t see play by the day.

To exit the season this way was disappointing for everyone – players, coaches, volunteers, members/supporters & our sponsors.
Whilst we will have our traditional end of year awards presentation at a date to be advised it is important to acknowledge the importance & great work of all from executive & general committee to our volunteer base & staff that make the wheels turn for the club. To the many in this group you nailed it.

To the coaches, players & general support staff netball/football it has been & was shaping up as another successful year for the club both on & off field only for the latter half to be severely disrupted causing frustration for all. A big thanks of appreciation to you all & we shall see you around shortly for another crack at it.

We will be back in 2022 with an appetite for success with plans well underway to further improve all facets of the club. We are in a terrific position after recent seasons of consolidation after our return to Div 1 & we look forward to the challenges thrown at us to hopefully go those one or two places better.

For the moment however we say to all associated with the club, look after yourself, family members & friends in the best way you possibly can. Potentially it is a scary & tough gig for many so if needing support reach out to the big numbers of Doggies fans on our social media that follow us.

Take care everybody & see you soon.
