Hello To All,
Hope you all have had a great week.
A big week for the club post the Federal election result last Saturday & all systems go with planning for a long term project – the pavilion that promises to reap major benefits to the club along with other sporting & community groups in the future.
Today for the Greensborough home game we welcome some pioneers & champions of the club in their own right with a celebration of the 1962 Seniors & U/17s Premiership teams in what was an incredible feat when you look back. With the senior club formed in 1958 & only five years in to achieve a senior flag is an amazing effort that probably would not be matched at local football level today where no divisional football.
There are around a dozen of the senior team still with us today & we welcome as many to the club extending to the U17 group, their families and friends. Let’s not forget also the many former players & officials from all eras of the club, this is your day & is the club’s way of saying many thanks for your contribution that makes such a great club as we stand today.
Om Saturday we hope to put on a big show against very good opposition that will seriously test where we are at for the senior group & what better way to put on a performance in front of our former players & officials.
It is a big game in the scheme of things that with a win puts us back in the frame for possible September action later in the year which is what we all strive for.
Good luck to all players in all teams & let’s have three wins.
NETBALL RESULTS – FRIDAY MAY 27
NH 1 76 vs Heidelberg 1 38
NH 2 53 vs Bundoora 1 46
NH 3 43 vs Ivanhoe 2 22
NH 4 47 vs Diamond Creek 2 25
NH 5 22 vs Epping 1 21
NH 6 25 vs Diamond Creek 3 30
NH 7 37 vs Bundoora 3 23
By my calculations that’s 6 wins of 7 which is a great effort considering many of the teams are playing opposition clubs 1 or 2 teams which complements the terrific depth we have in the club.
Big things we hope at the end of it, in a few months time.
