Hello To All,

Time has arrived, here we are R1. It has been a grind at times over the summer for many of us with plenty of work to get our teams on the park & we are probably ready for Saturday as best we can be.

To those playing their first game in Bulldogs colors & those returning we wish you the best of luck & know you will enjoy your time with the club. The same goes for our loyal group of players where we have had a high retention of the senior core group remains a testament to what we are building on, which puts us in good stead for the year.

Pre-season match form has been encouraging with a few of the newbies performing well & the overall depth of the list is stronger than 2021. It is pleasing to see the younger players aged 18-22 putting their hand up & be in the mix for senior selection & overall this should improve our on-field performances in the senior teams.

Overall those in the know put the “big boys” in the category of finals material with a real show to figure strongly in September if we play to our potential. This should lead to improved performances for our Development side however I won’t hide the fact with a few no-shows over pre-season you make it hard on yourselves to be “cherry ripe” for R1. These guys know who they are so on your bike, head down & have a crack as looking at the list for the season opener realistically this side is only 3 to 4 players short of playing finals as there is plenty of senior experience – being the depth factor we have been discussing over summer.

The U19s we are probably still light on for full numbers but there is some real talent in the side & with a few to return from injury we can be confident of a solid year & continued development throughout the season where another top 4 finish is a real possibility.

Those not aware we have all three sides at home this Saturday so a big welcome to all to come down & support the club in what shapes as a big year for the Doggies.

Coming Up:
SATURDAY APRIL 9

SOCIALS
LEGENDS GAME
Saturday March 26

What an outstanding success with plenty of former players & their families in attendance & with the weather perfect the standard of footy wasn’t half bad either. A few of the guys could still get a kick & we appreciated the players of yesteryear making a great contribution to the day.

To the masterminds behind the event – Kylie Stone supported by Kevin Elms & Trent Scannell a super effort from all of us at the club for the commitment to ensure it was a great day. In addition to our volunteers that assisted on the day & in the lead up we are appreciative of your time & contribution.

KEVIN SHEEDY LUNCHEON
Saturday April 2

For our first game of the season we have ex AFL/VFL legend Kevin Sheedy as our guest speaker at our first luncheon of the year & we are pleased to report we are fully booked in advance of the event.

We will have further luncheon events during the year.
